Fit Home Team / Yankees Home Opener Book Giveaway

In November of 2009, after the Yankees won their latest World Series title, my daughter and I had two outings, to the celebratory Ticker Tape Parade and Posada Book Signing. The book signing was held at the Yogi Berra Museum at Montclair State University. We checked out Yogi's baseball memorabilia - photos, world championship rings, equipment and other collectors items. We came home with an autographed copy of Fit Home Team, by Jorge Posada (#20) and Laura M. Posada. Both signatures!
After getting home and reading the book, we realized this is more focused to families with younger kids, or families that have different furniture. My teen and I have captains beds (wood frames instead of boxspring), so I can't quite picture us doing a pillow fight, or the more extreme “King of the Bed” game.
The book is divided into seasons of the year, with suggested recipes and activities for each season. I only wish the Posadas had written this book sooner, when we could have done the “Swinging Blanket with Song”. Right now my daughter is taller than me, and I'm too chicken to try this with anyone else's child.
We decided it's best to give this book away to someone who can fully enjoy ALL of the tips included for family fitness and healthy lifestyle. Do you want to be the happy new owner of this book?

Okay, here's my healthy recipe for Chicken and Barley Soup:

2 medium-sized boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 large potato, peeled & cubed
1 large carrot, peeled & cut into 1/4" pieces
3 stalks of celery, chopped into 1/4" pieces
1 large tomato, chopped into 1/4" pieces
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried celery seed
1/2 cup pearled barley
2 qt of low-sodium organic chicken stock
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

1. Place barley in bowl with just enough water to cover it.
2. Heat olive oil on medium heat in an 8-quart stockpot.
3. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the olive oil, cooking for 5 minutes.
4. Add the chicken to stockpot, along with the salt and black pepper. Brown for 5 minutes.
5. Add the chicken stock, vegetables, and spice to the pot.
6. Drain the water from the barley. Add the barley to the soup.
7. Let the soup boil for 30 minutes on medium heat.
